It is with great excitement that I announce that our team is joining Fastly. This news is bittersweet as it means that we are also closing down Haught Codeworks as part of the move. After 13 years, I am ending this long chapter of my career.
This will be a brief post as our lives have been a whirlwind the past several weeks as this came together quickly. The process of winding down HCW and its existing relationships with our clients is not a simple matter and for some, the transition has been far too short. I do have some regret not accurately predicting how this transition would play out, but I’ve also learned that until it’s official, you never know!
It’s been 13 years since I had a new job and I’ve forgotten much about that process. One thing I’ve observed is when you know something is coming to an end you often get ‘senioritis’ and are now really ready to move on to the new opportunity. It’s thrilling to have such excitement about the new challenges that are waiting for you.
For me, I get to trade the world of a small consultancy that focuses on building amazing, early-stage products on behalf of clients for a new world consisting of a large engineering organization that is scaling up and going as fast as it can. The leadership opportunities are abundant and will challenge me in new ways. I’ve been working in this industry for 22 years and it was time for a change.
I have so many thoughts to share but I don’t have the time with today’s post. I want to thank all of our clients, former teammates, and those in the community that have supported us all of these years. I appreciate all of the ways you’ve been part of this amazing journey for the last 13 years.
